Bluesman Brian "Colorblind" Blain, born in Quebec, but now based in Toronto, presents a solid collection of acoustic and electric blues on this release. Blain’s guitar work is soulful and authentic, but his lyrics are contemporary and very witty. Though he is an accomplished musician, singer, and songwriter, he does not take himself too seriously. Blain is backed by an excellent band that helps bring his songs to life.

If you are reading this online, then you will certainly be able to relate to "Hi-Tech Blues." Other highlights include "Saab Story," "Blues Is Hurting," and the title track. If your blues collection lacks a song sung in French, "Enfant Choisi" (Chosen Child) will fill that void.

The 13 tracks on Overqualified For The Blues will alternately give you something to think about and put a smile on your face.
