During a SBBS board meeting in 2004 it was discussed that concert audiences
were a graying bunch. It was decided that the society needed to reach out to
youth in our community in an effort to bring the Blues to the next generation.
Blues For Youth was chosen as the title for the initiative because
the board wanted to challenge itself to educate local youth both within the
formal environment of their school curriculum and outside of school with
informal activities.
Blues For Youth (BFY) is an outreach of the Santa Barbara Blues Society to bring an appreciation for the Blues to the next generation. BFY attempts to educate local youth both within the formal environment of their school curriculum and outside of school with informal activities. |
